Individualised Care at SoulTails

At SoulTails, we believe that every animal is unique. Each individual has its own personality, experiences, preferences, and needs.

Leopold, a happy patient.

Individualised care means we account for:

  • Physiology — age, weight, concurrent disease, drug sensitivities
  • Temperament — fear responses, handling tolerance, stress thresholds
  • Environment — multi-pet households, working animals, owner capacity for home care
  • Quality-of-life priorities — what matters most to this animal and this family
  • Finances

Consider feline hyperthyroidism. We have methimazole, surgical thyroidectomy, radioactive iodine, and prescription diet. The "best" option depends on the cat's temperament, the owner's ability to medicate daily, access to specialist centres, and financial constraints. Individualised care is choosing with the client, not for them.

Why it matters ?

  1. Better outcomes. Tailored pain protocols, nutrition plans, and rehab schedules respond to real-time feedback rather than assumptions.
  2. Reduced complications. A sedation plan built around a brachycephalic patient's airway anatomy prevents crises we'd otherwise be managing reactively.
  3. Stronger client relationships. Owners trust us more when they see us seeing their animal—not just running through a checklist.
  4. Professional fulfilment.

This is one of the core principles of Soultails, I hope you can see the benefits and the clinical freedom of patients and owner centered care.
